If you run it with a -t 24:00:00 it will pull from the /stats directory.

Now if your profileduration is set to 24 hours then -t 24:00:00 will pull from the checkpoint

Adaptive notes:

There is still much to be desired from showstats. Currently the best way to pull data like this is to have ODBC configued. You could then write a script to query this information in summation. Note that you can not just add showstats and showstats -t <timeframe>. This would not work and would give false data.
