Issue:

TORQUE pbs_server will not start "pbsd_init failed"

Affected Version:

Versions before  6.0.2, and 6.0.1.h5 could potentially run into this issue.

Example:

06/23/2016 19:31:26.508;01;PBS_Server.15574;Svr;PBS_Server;LOG_ERROR::PBS_Server, pbsd_init failed

Solution:

The issue here is that there is corrupted data in the "node_usage" in the TORQUE pbs_server directory. If you remove the node_usage file pbs_server should start. This issue was fixed in TRQ-3576. Upgrading to 6.0.2 will help prevent this from happening.
